In the build up to the launch of the iPhone 8 in September, we look back across the history of the iPhone – ten years on.

The first ever iPhone was unveiled by Steve Jobs at the Macworld Conference and Expo in San Francisco in January 2007. Its limited functionality in its early days – including not being able to connect to the internet independently of WiFi, meant it was effectively an entire computer that happened to make phone calls.
